Istiqamah: Prayer Tracker (“the app”) is made by Made by Waleed (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what the app does with your information.
Summary
The app has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no trackers. Everything you enter stays on your phone. We do not collect your data and we cannot see it.
What is stored on your phone
- The prayers you mark as done each day.
- Make-up (qada) prayer counts that you enter yourself.
- Your settings: calculation method, Asr setting, minute adjustments, chosen city or location, reminder choices, theme and Hijri date adjustment.
This information is stored only in the app’s private storage on your device. It is never sent to us or to anyone else.
Location
If you tap “Use my location”, the app asks Android for permission and reads your approximate location once. It is used only on your phone to calculate prayer times and the Qibla direction. The coordinates are saved on your phone with your settings so times can be calculated again without asking. They are never sent anywhere, and the app does not look up the name of your place online. You can choose a city from a built-in list instead and never grant location permission. The Qibla compass uses your phone’s compass sensors, and only while the Qibla screen is open.
Notifications and alarms
Prayer reminders are scheduled on your phone by Android. No server is involved. If you allow “Alarms & reminders”, reminders can arrive at the exact time. You can turn reminders off at any time in the app or in Android settings.
Home-screen widget
The optional widget shows the next prayer and today’s times. It reads the same information stored on your phone and shows nothing else.
Backup, restore and export
“Save backup” and “Export as CSV” create a file on your phone and open Android’s share menu. You choose where it goes (for example Google Drive, email or another app). The app itself does not upload anything and we never receive the file. Once you share a file with another app or service, that service’s own privacy policy applies. “Restore” lets you pick a backup file you saved earlier.
Third parties
The app contains no advertising, analytics or tracking services and shares no data with third parties.
Children
The app does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Deleting your data
Clear the app’s storage in Android settings, or uninstall the app, and everything stored by the app is removed from your phone. Backup files you saved elsewhere stay where you saved them until you delete them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
