This policy explains how Waraq Scanner (“the app”) handles your information. The app is made by Waleed (“we”, “us”), an independent developer who publishes apps on Google Play as Made by Waleed.
Information we collect.
We do not collect any personal information. The app has no account system, no analytics, no advertising and no servers of our own. We cannot see your documents or anything else you do in the app.
Your documents and photos.
Everything you scan or import is processed and stored only on your device. This includes:
- scanned pages, and the PDFs and images made from them;
- photos you choose to import from your gallery;
- document names, folders, page order, filters and app settings.
Edge detection, cropping and image cleanup happen on your phone. Documents are not sent to us or anyone else. Android’s automatic cloud backup is turned off for this app, so scans are not copied to a cloud backup either.
Camera and photo access.
Scanning uses Google’s document scanner, which runs inside Google Play services on your phone and asks for camera access itself. Waraq Scanner receives only the finished pages you choose to keep. When you import photos, Android’s photo picker lets you choose exactly which images the app can open.
Google Play services.
The document scanner is provided by Google ML Kit through Google Play services. Google states that ML Kit processes images on the device and does not send them to Google. Google Play services may separately collect limited technical information, such as device and app details and performance diagnostics, to keep the scanner working and improve it. Google controls that information under the Google Privacy Policy. More detail is on Google’s ML Kit data disclosure page.
Sharing.
Documents leave your phone only when you share or save them yourself, for example by sending a PDF through WhatsApp, email or Google Drive using Android’s share menu. Once shared, that copy is handled by the app or service you chose, under its own privacy policy.
Keeping and deleting your data.
Documents stay on your phone until you delete them. You can delete any document inside the app at any time. Uninstalling the app or clearing its storage in Android settings permanently removes everything the app saved. Because we never receive your data, we have nothing to delete on our side.
Children.
The app is a general-purpose tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy.
If a future version adds features that handle data differently, such as ads or paid upgrades, we will update this policy and the app’s Google Play listing before that version is released. The effective date at the top shows when the policy last changed.
